Sheriff's Office Hosts Human Trafficking Symposium with Rep. Smith

The Monmouth County Sheriff's Office hosted its annual Human Trafficking Symposium this morning with Congressman Chris Smith,  a leading voice in the fight against this heinous crime, and Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Raymond Santiago, along with a panel of experts on this extremely critical topic, including Julia Einbond - Covenant House New Jersey, Amanda Leese -Volunteers of America, Chief Christopher J. Winters Pine Hill Borough Police Department, Andrea Nurko, Department of Homeland Security- ICE and Hilary Evans 3Strands Global.

Human Trafficking is one of the most under reported and largest criminal enterprises in the nation. Topics at the symposium included federal laws passed to combat human trafficking, law enforcement efforts in preventing and prosecuting, resources for victims, protection and emergency services.
