A message from Chairman Golden on the passing of former Assemblyman Michael Arnone

July 8, 2024

The Monmouth County Republican Committee mourns the passing of former Assemblyman Michael Arnone.

A staunch advocate for Monmouth County, Assemblyman Arnone was born and raised in Red Bank, where he met the love of his life, Barbara, his high school sweetheart and later his wife. He served honorably in the United States Army earning the rank of captain. In 1961, he opened his dental practice and proudly served his patients for more than 60 years.

Before being elected to the Assembly, Arnone served the people of Red Bank as a Borough Councilman, Fire Commissioner, and Police Commissioner. He served three terms as Mayor.  Assemblyman Arnone served in the lower chamber in Trenton from 1989 until 2004. His dedication to his constituents was highly regarded and he played a seminal role in the passing of "Megan's Law."

He received numerous awards for his public service which we still benefit from today. His servant heart and his dedication to Monmouth County and New Jersey is what we should aspire to.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 9 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St, Red Bank, N.J. 07701. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, July 10 at 11:30 a.m. at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 94 Broad St, Red Bank, NJ 07701. All are welcome to a repast at the Molly Pitcher Inn in Red Bank from 1:30 to 4:30.

May his legacy inspire others and his memory be a blessing. May he rest in peace.
